Entry-Level Shop Technician (Assembly & Maintenance)

About the role

The Shop Technician supports the Shop Manager by assembling, disassembling, and re‑assembling a variety of general equipment. This entry‑level position works on‑site, Monday‑Friday, with occasional overtime, weekend and holiday shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, prepare, and service equipment for installation and shipment.
• Assist the Shop Manager with packing, wrapping, loading, and unloading deliveries.
• Operate a hot‑water pressure washer to clean equipment as needed.
• Support facility projects such as moving items, packing boxes, and waste removal.
• Load and unload equipment on trailers for transport to job sites.
• Install and verify required S3S decals before shipping.
• Request tools, supplies, and fixtures required for daily tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and may work at other locations when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma; 18+ years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and reliable transportation.
• Fluent reading and writing in English.
• Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 22.68 kg (50 lb), and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Reliability and accountability to complete assigned work.

Required skills

• Proficiency with power hand tools and inspection tools (micrometers, calipers).
• Ability to operate front‑end loaders, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Experience using hot‑water pressure washers.
• Capability to diagnose, disassemble, repair, and rebuild equipment such as pumps.
• Interpretation of blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Operation of manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools.
