Engineering I – Mechanical Systems & Equipment

About the role

Join Westinghouse’s innovative engineering team as an Engineering I focused on Mechanical Systems and Equipment. Based in Kitchener, Ontario, you will support the design, development, implementation, and analysis of mechanical components for both advanced and legacy nuclear reactor applications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of mechanical systems, components, and equipment under senior engineer supervision.
• Perform thermal, thermal‑hydraulic, and piping network calculations.
• Develop equipment sizing calculations for blowers, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and HVAC systems.
• Identify technical issues and propose practical engineering solutions within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
• Support senior engineers while progressively building technical independence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 0–2 years of professional engineering experience.
• Willingness to pursue P.Eng. licensure.
• Readiness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Mathcad.
• Experience using MATLAB.
• Knowledge of VBA programming.
