Class B Refrigeration Operator (Casual Part-Time)

About the role

This is a permanent, casual part‑time position reporting to the Refrigeration Operations Supervisor. The role requires flexible availability to cover all seven days of the week and involves hands‑on operation of a TSSA‑regulated refrigeration/boiler plant.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain air compressors, chillers, water towers, water softeners, air dryers, pumps and fans.
• Perform chiller and cooling‑tower maintenance, including associated water‑treatment systems.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of the refrigeration plant, conducting routine inspections, testing and minor repairs.
• Document compressor, steam, gas, water and hydro readings and provide forecasts to suppliers.
• Utilise CMM and preventative‑maintenance programs and support sub‑trades as required.

Required profile

• Possess an “A” or “B” Refrigeration Operator class certificate or a 3rd Class Power Engineer certificate (or higher).
• Demonstrated experience operating in a refrigeration/boiler plant environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 kg, climb stairs and work on ladders or scaffolds.
