Emergency Physician – Ksyen Regional Hospital

About the role

Northern Health is expanding its Emergency Medicine team at Ksyen Regional Hospital in Terrace, BC. The position offers flexible full‑time coverage in a modern 20‑bed Emergency Department with trauma bays, supporting a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide double coverage from 8 am to midnight and single overnight coverage (midnight‑8 am) on a flexible shift schedule.
• Participate in teaching UBC Family Medicine residents and medical students, and lead simulations, journal clubs, and CME activities.
• Collaborate with a wide range of specialists, including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and radiology.
• Utilize on‑site imaging modalities (CT, MRI, ultrasound) for acute emergency care.

Required profile

• Board‑eligible or certified in Emergency Medicine (CCFP‑EM or RCPSC‑EM preferred).
• Willingness to work 12‑14 shifts per month with 0.5‑0.75 FTE, including occasional overnight shifts.
• Flexibility to accommodate vacation, teaching, and clinical interests.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CT imaging.
• Proficiency with MRI imaging.
• Proficiency with point‑of‑care ultrasound.
