Emergency Physician (Full‑time)

About the role

Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) are seeking full‑time Emergency Physicians to join a large, collaborative group of approximately 70 physicians. The role involves staffing both sites, teaching UBC residents and medical students, and contributing to research, quality improvement, and education initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency care across two busy, high‑acuity departments.
• Teach and supervise residents and medical students during clinical shifts.
• Participate in research, quality‑improvement projects, and departmental leadership activities.
• Maintain certification and competency in emergency medicine protocols and trauma care.
• Contribute to departmental initiatives in geriatric emergency medicine, simulation, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required profile

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine (CCFP‑EM or FRCPC‑EM).
• Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• PALS or APLS certification obtained within the past five years.
• ABEM certification is also acceptable.
• Experience in a high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency department preferred.
• Interest in research, education, leadership, or geriatric emergency care is valued.
