Emergency Physician (Full‑time)

About the role

Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) are seeking full‑time Emergency Physicians to join the Columbia Emergency Physicians Association. The position involves rotating between two high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency departments serving the Fraser Health region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to adult, pediatric and trauma patients.
• Participate in teaching activities for UBC medical students and residents.
• Engage in research, quality‑improvement projects, and departmental leadership initiatives.
• Contribute to simulation‑based training and geriatric emergency medicine programs.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to provincial licensing and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Experience in a high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency department is preferred.
• Interest in research, education, or physician leadership is valued.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion principles.

Required skills

• CCFP (EM) certification or FRCPC (EM) certification.
• PALS or APLS certification (must be obtained within five years).
• ABEM certification (eligible).
• ATLS or equivalent trauma certification (e.g., STRUC) – highly recommended.
• Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
