Emergency Physician (Full‑time)

About the role

Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) are seeking full‑time Emergency Physicians to join the Columbia Emergency Physicians Association. The position involves rotating between two high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency departments serving the Fraser Health region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to adult and pediatric patients across both sites.
• Participate in teaching activities for UBC residents and medical students.
• Engage in research, quality improvement, and departmental leadership initiatives.
• Contribute to simulation training and geriatric emergency medicine programs.
• Maintain on‑call and shift coverage, averaging approximately 13 shifts per month.

Required profile

• Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Certification in CCFP (EM) or FRCPC (EM); ABEM certification is also acceptable.
• Recent (within five years) PALS or APLS certification.
• Experience in high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency departments, preferably with trauma and pediatric exposure.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.
