Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that handles roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a diverse case mix and ample procedural experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute care to patients of all ages in a busy emergency department.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.

Required profile

• Current certification in CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Willingness to work in a community hospital setting and engage with a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Competence in emergency medicine clinical practice.
• Ability to perform a range of emergency procedures.
