About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that handles roughly 22,000 visits each year, offering a diverse case mix and many procedural opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute care to patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the evolving scope of practice as the hospital expands its facilities.

Required profile

• Current certification with CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 emergency department environment.
• Interest in teaching, mentorship, and community engagement.

Required skills

• CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC qualification in Emergency Medicine.
