Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, providing a broad spectrum of acute care and procedural experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage emergency patients of all ages.
• Perform emergency procedures and collaborate with internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry specialists.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the upcoming hospital redevelopment, including the expanded emergency department.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Interest in rural practice and willingness to engage in community health initiatives.

Required skills

• Emergency medicine clinical expertise.
• Procedural competence in acute care settings.
• Ability to teach and mentor trainees.
