Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits each year, providing a broad mix of cases and procedural opportunities while collaborating with specialists across the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage acute medical emergencies in a fast‑paced ED.
• Perform emergency procedures and coordinate care with internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents as part of the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development initiatives such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP(EM) or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Emergency department experience is an asset, but mentorship is available for new graduates and international medical graduates.
