Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

We are seeking a board‑certified Emergency Medicine physician to join the 24/7 emergency department at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. The department sees roughly 22,000 visits annually and offers a diverse case mix with ample procedural opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute care to patients presenting to the emergency department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Participate in teaching and mentorship of medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural program.
• Contribute to quality improvement and departmental initiatives, including the upcoming CMH redevelopment.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Emergency clinical assessment and management.
• Procedural competence in emergency medicine.
