Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that handles roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a diverse case mix and abundant procedural opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Perform emergency procedures and coordinate care with internal medicine, obstetrics, surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry specialists.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents as part of the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development initiatives such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the ongoing redevelopment of the hospital’s emergency department and future service expansions.

Required profile

• Medical degree with eligibility to practice in British Columbia.
• Current CCFP, CCFP(EM), or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts in a rural, community hospital setting.
• Interest in teaching, mentorship, and professional leadership development.
