About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. The 24/7 emergency department sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a diverse case mix and ample procedural experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute care to patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the upcoming hospital redevelopment, including the expanded emergency department.

Required profile

• Current certification in CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Commitment to community-based practice and willingness to engage in teaching.
