Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, providing acute care to a diverse community.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities via Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.
• Contribute to the ongoing expansion of the hospital, including the new emergency department and future medical‑surgical, mental health, and maternity units.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice in Canada (Canadian or International Medical Graduate with appropriate licensure).
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 emergency setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
