Emergency Medicine Physician – Urgent Care

About the role

The Oceanside Health Centre Urgent Care is seeking physicians to provide acute emergent care in a multidisciplinary urgent‑care environment. Shifts are typically 8 hours, with the centre operating daily from 07:30 to 21:30. Physicians work alongside emergency‑trained RNs who triage patients using the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS).

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients triaged as urgent or emergent.
• Order and interpret on‑site imaging (X‑ray, ultrasound) and point‑of‑care laboratory tests.
• Prescribe and administer IV, oral, and other medications.
• Perform casting and splinting procedures as needed.
• Coordinate transfer of patients requiring higher‑level care to the regional referral hospital.

Required profile

• Physician comfortable delivering acute emergent care in an urgent‑care setting.
• Willingness to work 8‑hour shifts on a full‑time, part‑time, or casual basis.
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, imaging technicians, and support staff.
