Emergency Medicine Physician (Part‑/Full‑time)

About the role

North Island Hospital Comox Valley is seeking qualified Emergency Medicine Physicians for part‑time or full‑time positions. The role involves delivering acute care in a 24‑hour Emergency Department serving a growing community of approximately 66,000 residents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to adult and pediatric patients, including trauma and code situations.
• Participate in the hospital’s Rapid Response Team and local trauma team.
• Teach medical students and residents as part of the hospital’s academic affiliation with UBC.
• Lead or contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives within the department.
• Collaborate with a broad range of consultants across multiple specialties.

Required profile

• Current certification in Emergency Medicine (CCFP‑EM or FRCPC).
• Eligibility to work at least 0.8 FTE (required for immigration support if needed).
• Interest in academic, quality‑improvement, or leadership activities is an asset.
