Emergency Medicine Physician – Kamloops

About the role

The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) in Kamloops is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join a dynamic, collegial team of 32 providers. The position offers a blend of emergency department duties and participation in the Trauma Team Leader (TTL) program, providing a balanced workload and ample time for outdoor recreation in the surrounding region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency care to a busy tertiary‑care centre serving ~250,000 residents.
• Participate in the High Acuity Response Team (HART) for regional critical‑ill patient transport.
• Contribute to the Trauma Team Leader program, covering 14 shifts per month across emergency and trauma services.
• Engage in teaching activities with medical students and residents.
• Maintain clinical standards through monthly journal clubs, quality rounds, and trauma rounds.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Experience in a high‑volume emergency department preferred.
• Commitment to collaborative, patient‑centered care.
• Willingness to participate in teaching and continuous quality improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in emergency and trauma clinical protocols.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
