Emergency Medicine Physician – Community Hospital

About the role

Delta Hospital is looking for board‑eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians to join a collaborative, community‑focused emergency department just outside Vancouver. The position offers high autonomy, a full‑spectrum patient mix, and a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population (≈100 patients/day).
• Perform core procedures such as intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, and fracture management.
• Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate transfers to regional tertiary centres.
• Maintain procedural ownership while collaborating with specialists and quality‑improvement programs.
• Contribute to consistent shift coverage on a flexible FTE basis.

Required profile

• FRCPC‑EM or CCFP‑EM certification (ABEM‑certified candidates considered).
• Eligibility for full licensure with the CPSBC.
• Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS/APLS certifications.
• Strong procedural and independent clinical skills.
• Experience in a community emergency setting is preferred.
