Emergency Medicine Locum Physician

About the role

West Coast General Hospital is seeking board‑certified Emergency Medicine physicians to provide urgent locum services on a flexible start date. The role involves delivering high‑quality emergency care in a modern 52‑bed acute care hospital with a 3‑bed ICU and a 24‑hour emergency department.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiology, surgery, psychiatry and radiology.
• Utilise hospital imaging services such as CT scanning and PACS for patient management.
• Document care accurately in the hospital’s medical record system.
• Participate in on‑call rotations as required by the locum schedule.

Required profile

• Medical degree and active licence to practice in Canada.
• Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced emergency department.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
