Electrical Engineer Internship – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Aecon is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to support its Civil East sector projects across the Caribbean region. You will work alongside experienced engineers to help design, coordinate, and document electrical systems for large‑scale infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with electrical engineering tasks of limited to moderate complexity, including updating blueprints and schematics using AutoCAD or Revit.
• Perform basic electrical calculations for power loads, voltage drops, lighting, and short‑circuit analysis.
• Maintain detailed design documentation and support coordination of electrical scopes across facilities.
• Review M&E drawings and specifications to identify conflicts and constructability issues.
• Support testing, commissioning, and system turnover activities, including documentation and close‑out.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
• Understanding of basic AC/DC circuits, three‑phase power, and relevant codes.
• Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using Autodesk AutoCAD (or Revit) for electrical design.
