About the role
WhiteWater is seeking an Electrical Controls/Automation Engineer or Technologist to own the design, delivery, and commissioning of ride control systems. The role blends engineering design with project delivery to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective solutions for global amusement‑ride projects.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver safety‑compliant control systems for complex ride installations.
- Lead PLC and HMI development and define control system architecture (IEC 61131‑3, Siemens TIA Portal).
- Own functional safety design, risk assessment, and ISO 13849 compliance.
- Ensure right‑first‑time design and commissioning, minimizing rework and field defects.
- Lead on‑site commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer handover worldwide.
- Support bid and proposal development with cost‑effective, buildable control solutions.
- Drive standardisation and reuse of control architectures across ride platforms.
- Collaborate with Project Execution, Product, and Supply Chain teams to meet schedules.
- Maintain compliance with electrical codes, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required profile
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Mechatronics preferred).
- 4–6 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) status or eligibility for registration.
Required skills
- PLC programming (IEC 61131‑3).
- HMI development using Siemens TIA Portal.
- Functional safety design and ISO 13849 compliance.
- Risk assessment and safety‑related standards.
- Electrical code and regulatory compliance.
