Director of Operations – Clinical Research & Centre for Innovative Medicine

About the role

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI‑MUHC) is seeking a Director of Operations for its Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM). Reporting to the Director of Clinical Research and the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead the operational strategy and execution of clinical research services that support over 250 investigators and industry partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the CIM strategic and operational plan in alignment with institute goals.
• Lead, build and mentor high‑performing teams delivering clinical research services.
• Oversee financial stewardship, budgeting, and long‑term sustainability of CIM operations.
• Manage regulatory compliance, budget negotiations and trial administration for multicenter studies.
• Coordinate project management of multicenter trials, technical platforms and research operations.
• Foster internal and external partnerships with industry, investigators and other institute units.

Required profile

• Significant senior leadership experience in clinical research operations or a related biomedical environment.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management and team development.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines governing clinical studies.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and change‑management abilities.
