Director of Finance

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing financial services organization seeking a hands‑on Director of Finance. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will lead accounting operations, strengthen controls, and drive reporting excellence across a complex, evolving business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Strengthen accounting controls, reconciliations and reporting workflows for greater accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee financial reporting, balance‑sheet integrity, cash management and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with senior leaders to provide financial insights, variance analysis and decision‑support.
• Coach and develop a team of four finance professionals, fostering high performance.
• Champion process‑improvement initiatives, including automation and modernization of financial systems.
• Act as primary liaison with parent‑company stakeholders, auditors and external partners.

Required profile

• 7+ years progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, including team management.
• CPA designation and post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of U.S. GAAP or IFRS and internal‑control frameworks.
• Public‑accounting background, preferably Big Four or mid‑size firm.
• Proven success leading month‑end close, financial reporting and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Experience in high‑growth, entrepreneurial or complex business environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills with a hands‑on approach.
