Director, Human Resources

About the role

A Canadian consumer brand with a coast-to-coast footprint of market-leading brands is seeking a strategic, business-focused Director, Human Resources. The role supports a portfolio of retail and corporate teams and acts as a trusted advisor to business leaders across a large, operationally diverse group. It is a new position.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders on a workforce of more than 10,000 retail employees and about 600 corporate employees to develop and execute people strategies that drive business performance.
• Focus on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, employee engagement, succession, leadership development, culture and change management.
• Shape and evolve the HR service model and support leaders through ongoing transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Commercially minded HR leader with experience supporting both corporate functions and large, dispersed customer-facing employee populations.
• Strong business acumen, credibility with senior leaders and ability to influence decisions in complex, fast-paced environments.
• Proven track record leading teams, handling employee relations challenges and delivering people solutions that improve organizational effectiveness and business results.
• Experience in retail, consumer-facing, hospitality, logistics, distribution or similar large-scale operational environments is a strong asset.
