Associate Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

A leading Canadian organization with a portfolio of consumer-facing businesses and a strong national presence is looking for an Associate Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner. The client is undergoing transformation and needs an accomplished HR leader to help drive business performance and organizational effectiveness. The role is advertised by the leadership advisory firm Odgers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic HR leadership and partnership to a complex, highly regulated business unit and several corporate functions, helping them achieve their strategic and operational objectives.
• Serve as the primary HR advisor to senior executives and leadership teams.
• Lead the development and execution of people strategies across organizational design, talent management, workforce planning, culture, employee engagement and regulatory people matters.
• Work closely with leaders and HR Centres of Excellence to strengthen organizational effectiveness and support business transformation.

Required profile

• Accomplished, highly strategic and credible HR Business Partner with experience supporting senior executives.
• Experience in a complex, matrixed and preferably regulated environment.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor on organizational design, talent strategy, leadership effectiveness, succession planning, workforce planning and culture, going beyond transactional HR support.
• Strong business acumen and relationship-building skills, able to influence executive stakeholders and turn business priorities into people strategies.
• Able to navigate complexity, use data and insights to inform decisions, and lead high-performing teams through change.
