Director, Events

About the role

We are seeking a Director, Events to lead the global events strategy for a fast‑paced technology organization based in Canada. In this senior leadership position you will shape, plan and execute a comprehensive portfolio of in‑person, virtual and hybrid events that drive brand visibility, customer engagement and revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the end‑to‑end events strategy across conferences, trade shows, customer gatherings and virtual experiences.
• Build and maintain annual and quarterly event roadmaps, adjusting initiatives based on business impact.
• Lead all phases of the event lifecycle: strategy, budgeting, logistics, execution, post‑event analysis and continuous improvement.
• Manage event budgets, forecasts, vendor contracts and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, Finance, Legal and Communications teams to align objectives.
• Develop scalable processes, playbooks, templates and measurement frameworks.
• Oversee trade‑show strategy, sponsorships, booth design, lead capture and engagement activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading an events function in a technology or similar fast‑growth environment.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with operational excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
