Director, Creative Services

About the role

Article is looking for a Director of Creative Services to own the business and operational side of its high‑volume creative function. You will ensure teams have the resources, processes, budgets and direction needed to deliver exceptional creative work at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead creative operations, from intake and briefing through production and final asset delivery, establishing capacity plans, budgets and performance metrics.
• Own the operational budget, forecast spend, manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and drive cost‑effectiveness.
• Act as a bridge between Creative Services and the broader business, translating priorities into clear production plans and communicating timelines, resources and trade‑offs.
• Develop and coach managers across Production Management, Creative Direction, Copy & Design, CG Production and Physical Production, fostering accountability and high standards.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in a high‑volume creative environment such as an in‑house ecommerce studio or large‑scale production agency.
• Strong creative or production background with deep understanding of creative workflows and high‑quality execution.
• Experience managing multi‑million‑dollar operational budgets, forecasting and cost control.
• Proven track record in procurement, vendor management and contract negotiation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with G Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Meet).
• Experience using Slack for collaboration.
• Comfort working on Mac or PC devices.

• Salary range $172,420 – $191,580 CAD per year, with cash bonus tied to company performance.
