About the role
The CSU Coordinator will lead the safe commissioning and startup of the Liquid Hydrogen (LHY) unit and support the Air Separation Unit (ASU) commissioning. Reporting to the CSU Manager, the role involves building deep project knowledge, coordinating field activities, and ensuring all safety and procedural standards are met.
Key responsibilities
- Rapidly acquire knowledge of the ENZHEC project, LHY unit, and related schedules.
- Establish relationships with CSU, construction, engineering, and operations teams.
- Complete Air Products Safe Work Permit (SWP) training and become qualified to issue SWPs.
- Review and finalize system cleaning plans, temporary spools, and consumables for the CSU phase.
- Validate and align LHY commissioning packages and procedures with vendor and internal engineering requirements.
- Support construction‑complete walkdowns, punch‑list management, and handover processes using SmartCompletions.
- Lead safety execution on‑site, audit activities, and mentor field personnel.
- Coordinate daily CSU execution meetings, develop look‑ahead plans, and resolve field issues.
- Act as the primary liaison with vendors and specialty contractors, monitoring progress and removing barriers.
- Assist with night‑shift daily order instructions and oversee leak & pressure testing activities.
Required profile
- Ability to quickly assimilate complex project information and schedules.
- Strong understanding of Air Products terminology, procedures, and safety standards.
- Proven leadership in field‑based commissioning or startup environments.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with construction, engineering, operations, and external vendors.
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
Required skills
- Safe Work Permit (SWP) issuance and management.
- Experience with SmartCompletions and the Completions Management System (CMS) tool.
- Commissioning and startup of cryogenic/hydrogen plants.
- Leak & pressure testing procedures.
- Construction Complete & Mechanically Complete (CC, MC/STCC) walkdown processes.
- SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) planning and execution.
