CPA Articling Student – Staff Accountant (Full-Time)

About the role

As a Staff Accountant and CPA Articling Student you will gain practical experience in assurance, accounting and taxation while progressing through increasingly complex assignments under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Test transactions and account balances, complete audit, review and compilation engagement sections, and prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
• Perform bookkeeping assignments, use Caseware and CaseView to organize files and prepare financial statements.
• Progress to revenue and variance analysis, engagement scoping, internal control documentation, advanced financial statement preparation, and complex tax filings.
• Resolve engagement queries, communicate with file leads and clients, and work with increasing independence and professional judgment.

Required profile

• University degree with aspirations to obtain a CPA designation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication, and ability to prioritize work.
• Commitment to excellence, attention to detail, professional curiosity and community focus.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of accounting standards.
• Familiarity with accounting and tax software such as Caseware, Taxprep, QuickBooks or Sage.
