About the role

The Department of Economics at McGill University is hiring a Course Lecturer for the Winter 2027 term to teach ECON 333-001 Macroeconomic Theory (Majors 2). The instructor will deliver two weekly 80‑minute lectures covering money and banking, business cycles, stabilization policy and international finance, from January 5 to April 14, 2027, in the STBIO S1/4 classroom. The appointment is a fixed‑term teaching assignment remunerated at $11,824 per course. Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada and willing to work on the Montreal campus. All teaching and research activities are conducted in English, requiring strong verbal and written communication skills. Required profile

  • Doctoral level study in Economics (completed comprehensive examinations or PhD).
  • Evidence of highly effective teaching ability or superior communication skills and potential for teaching excellence.
  • Specialization closely aligned with macroeconomic theory.
  • Experience as a teaching assistant for a university course (asset).
  • Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
