Course Lecturer – Introduction to Planning Statistics

About the role

The School of Urban Planning seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to deliver URBP 640 – Introduction to Planning Statistics during the fall term. The position involves teaching two‑hour lectures and supervising three‑hour lab sessions for a one‑credit course.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver two‑hour weekly lectures covering descriptive and inferential statistics, sampling, chi‑square, t‑tests, ANOVA, correlation, regression, and related topics.
• Supervise teaching assistants who conduct three‑hour lab sessions, ensuring alignment with lecture content.
• Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, and exams.
• Maintain academic integrity and provide timely feedback.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in applied statistical analysis for urban planning or policy research, demonstrated through peer‑reviewed publications.
• Expertise in the R statistical programming language.
• Successful completion of URBP bivariate and multivariate statistics courses or equivalent.
• PhD completed or in progress is preferred.
