High School Math Tutor - In-Person and In-Home

About the role

Join Prep Academy Tutors as an in‑home, in‑person High School Math Tutor supporting students in the Aurora and Newmarket areas. You will deliver personalized instruction aligned with the Ontario secondary curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalized academic support aligned with the Ontario secondary English curriculum, including reading comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking.
• Prepare students for classroom assessments, culminating assignments, exams, and OSSLT preparation where appropriate.
• Develop customized lesson plans that promote deep understanding, confidence, and academic growth.
• Offer remedial support for struggling students and enrichment opportunities for advanced learners.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, goals, and areas for improvement.

Required profile

• Hold a current, valid registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or be a certified teacher in Canada or the United States (or in the process of certification).
• Be enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program, or have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited Canadian or U.S. college or university.
• Experience teaching or tutoring high school math (Grades 9–12) and strong knowledge of the Ontario English curriculum.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to students' homes in Aurora and Newmarket.
