About the role

The Department of Economics at McGill University seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to teach ECON 424-001 International Payments during the Fall 2026 semester. This part‑time, fixed‑term position involves delivering two weekly lectures and supporting student learning in a university setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures on international financial relations, covering balance of payments, exchange rates, global capital markets, and the international monetary system.
  • Prepare and update course materials, including outlines, slides, and reading lists.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and participation.
  • Maintain office hours for student consultations and provide academic guidance.
  • Collaborate with department faculty to ensure alignment with curriculum standards.

Required profile

  • Doctoral level study in Economics (completed comprehensive exams or PhD degree).
  • Demonstrated high‑quality teaching ability or strong communication skills with potential for teaching excellence.
  • Specialization closely related to international payments or monetary economics.
  • Experience as a teaching assistant is an asset.

Required skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
