About the role
The Department of Philosophy at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach PHIL 419-001 Epistemology in the Winter 2027 term. The three‑credit course explores central questions in the theory of knowledge, including the nature of knowledge, justification, and the relationship between belief and knowledge.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and lead discussions for PHIL 419-001 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:35 am–12:55 pm.
- Prepare course outlines, reading lists, and instructional materials.
- Assess student work, assign grades, and provide feedback.
- Maintain office hours and support student learning.
Required profile
- Completed PhD in Philosophy or enrollment in a doctoral program.
- Demonstrated highly effective teaching ability, such as prior teaching assistant experience or course instruction.
- Research specialization or competence in epistemology, evidenced by publications, conference presentations, thesis work, or teaching related graduate courses.
