About the role

The Department of Economics at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach Ecological Economics (ECON 326-001) during the Winter 2027 term. Applicants must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and, if applicable, a copy of their study or work permit. The deadline to apply is October 15, 2026.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures for Ecological Economics on Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:35 am–12:55 pm, from January 5 to April 14, 2027, in RPHYS 114.
  • Prepare a brief course outline (optional) and related teaching materials, and assess student performance.
  • Maintain attendance records, grade assignments, and comply with university teaching policies.

Required profile

  • Doctoral level study in Economics (completed comprehensive examinations or PhD).
  • Evidence of highly effective teaching ability or superior communication skills.
  • Specialization closely aligned with the subject of Ecological Economics.
  • Experience as a teaching assistant is considered an asset.
  • Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec.
