Course Lecturer – Communication in Education (Fall 2026)

About the role

McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to teach EDEC 203-002 – Communication in Education during the Fall 2026 term. The position involves delivering a three‑credit, Friday‑only course focused on written and oral communication strategies for pre‑service teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lectures, workshops, and assessments for the Communication in Education course.
• Prepare course materials, assignments, and grading rubrics aligned with the Quebec Education Program.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.
• Utilize the MyCourses learning management system and, when needed, Zoom for blended instruction.
• Incorporate equity, diversity, and inclusion principles into classroom practice.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience in exceptional cases).
• Expert knowledge of communication in education and the Quebec Education Program.
• Familiarity with the professional competencies defined by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Previous successful experience teaching similar courses to pre‑service teachers, preferably within the Quebec school system.
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and availability for pre‑term planning meetings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MyCourses or comparable LMS platforms.
• Experience using Zoom or similar video‑conferencing tools.
• Ability to deliver blended (in‑person and online) classes.
• Strong technology skills for classroom integration.
