About the role
The Department of Political Science at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach the American Foreign Policy course (POLI 346-001) during the Winter 2027 term. Applicants must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and, if applicable, a copy of their study or work permit.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures on American foreign policy covering the period from 1945 to the present, including the Cold War, deterrence, arms control, and post‑Cold War interventions.
- Prepare and grade assignments, examinations, and provide feedback to students throughout the semester.
Required profile
- A completed PhD or enrollment in a doctoral program in Political Science or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated effective teaching ability, preferably through prior experience teaching a similar course.
- Specialization that aligns closely with the subject matter of American foreign policy; teaching‑assistant experience is considered an asset.
