Counter Salesperson

About the role

EMCO Corporation is seeking a motivated Counter Salesperson to support walk‑in customers at our Profit Centre counters. You will be the first point of contact, delivering high‑quality service while maintaining a clean and well‑stocked sales area.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers purchasing material at the counter, answering product questions and providing recommendations.
• Enter, pick, pack and process sales orders generated on‑site.
• Maintain and clean the counter area, including merchandising displays.
• Monitor stock levels and inform the buyer when inventory is low.
• Follow up on back‑orders with vendors and communicate accurate delivery dates to customers.
• Process returns, warranty claims and related paperwork for both account and cash sales.
• Support Inside Sales and Outside Sales teams by generating leads and sharing customer insights.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn product knowledge across plumbing, HVAC, waterworks and industrial supplies.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency for order entry and inventory tracking.
