Co‑op Electrical Engineer Internship (8‑Month Term)

About the role
This 8‑month co‑op position supports Gerdau's Reliability Team at the Selkirk plant. You will gain hands‑on experience in electrical engineering while contributing to real projects across the site.
Key responsibilities
- Update equipment and facility drawings and assist with electrical planning.
- Work with external vendors, consultants, and contractors on capex and non‑capex projects.
- Support engineers on improvement projects and manage smaller project tasks.
- Plan electrical jobs, order parts, and help coordinate project execution.
Required profile
- At least two years completed in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 (3.0 preferred) and a record of academic achievement.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- Strong verbal and written communication, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.
Required skills
- Experience with AutoCAD design software.
- Familiarity with PLCs and automation concepts.
