Cook – Full-time Kitchen Position

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cook to join our kitchen team at Browns Socialhouse Lynn Valley. This full‑time, permanent role offers the chance to work in a vibrant restaurant environment while supporting newcomers and youth in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes according to menu specifications.
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards.
• Train staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe handling practices.
• Order supplies and equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Clean kitchen workstations and equipment regularly.
• Manage day‑to‑day kitchen operations to ensure efficient service.

Required profile

• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant kitchen experience.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and follow food safety regulations.
• Willingness to support newcomer and refugee integration programs.
• Commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere for youth employees.
