Controller – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the finance function for a market‑leading consumer products business in North America. Based in Montréal, you will partner closely with the CFO to drive financial performance, support commercial decisions, and enable business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with executive leadership on strategic projects, financial analysis, and business planning.
• Lead financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
• Provide monthly financial reports with variance analysis and performance insights for senior leadership.
• Act as a commercial partner on profitability analysis, pricing, margin improvement, and growth initiatives.
• Oversee working capital, including inventory, receivables, payables, and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Manage banking relationships and support financing and liquidity initiatives.
• Drive financial discipline and cost control through proactive business partnering.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal governance.

Required profile

• CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• 7‑12 years of experience in consumer products, distribution, wholesale, retail or a related environment.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise with a commercial mindset.
• Proven experience managing cash flow, working capital, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Experience in multi‑entity or international reporting structures is highly desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leadership.
• Hands‑on, entrepreneurial approach in a fast‑paced environment.
