Controller – Finance & Accounting

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced, hands‑on Controller to lead the full accounting and finance function. The role supports operational leadership and provides strategic financial insight to drive business performance in an engineering‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, month‑end close).
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial planning.
• Analyze project performance, costing, WIP and revenue recognition.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Manage year‑end audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Develop and improve financial processes, reporting and internal controls for scalability.
• Partner with senior leadership to deliver financial analysis and business insights.
• Oversee treasury functions, banking relationships and cash management.
• Mentor and manage the accounting and finance team.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in engineering, construction, consulting or other project‑based industries is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, percentage‑of‑completion revenue recognition and operational finance.
