About the role
We are seeking a Contract Legal Assistant or Junior Law Clerk to support a short‑term project focused on legal research, document review and organization of historic project records. The role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals starting a legal career who are highly organized and detail‑oriented.
Key responsibilities
- Review and organise project‑related documents, emails, contracts, schedules, invoices and other records.
- Analyse discovery documents, identify relevant issues, dates and supporting materials.
- Create timelines, chronologies, issue summaries, document indexes and tracking spreadsheets.
- Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law and legal principles as directed.
- Draft research summaries, memoranda, briefing notes, internal reports and correspondence.
- Identify gaps or inconsistencies in project records and communicate findings to the team.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all company, client and legal information.
Required profile
- Education or experience as a Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, legal studies student or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
- Ability to review large volumes of information and summarise key points clearly.
- Proficient written communication skills.
- Capacity to work independently while following direction.

What we offer
- Short‑term contract (approximately 4‑5 weeks).
- Part‑time or full‑time temporary schedule, based on availability.
- Hourly rate of $25‑$35 CAD.
