Construction & Compliance Manager

About the role

telMAX Inc. is seeking a Construction & Compliance Manager to lead Fiber to the Home (FTTH) outside‑plant projects across Southern Ontario. Reporting to the VP of Construction and Design, you will coordinate all project deliverables, manage vendors and subcontractors, and ensure that construction and inspection activities meet quality, safety and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate FTTH outside‑plant construction deliverables, overseeing vendors, subcontractors, superintendents and project engineers while liaising with the design team.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, regulatory bodies, clients and community representatives to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare comprehensive project plans covering objectives, scope, budget, schedules and forecasts.
• Generate labor and material estimates to keep projects within budget.
• Manage change proposals and change orders, securing required sign‑offs and communicating scope, specification and budget adjustments.
• Monitor fieldwork against schedules, maintain project documentation, daily worksheets and material inventories.
• Collaborate with Construction and Project Managers to verify contractor performance against expectations.
• Conduct pre‑construction, in‑progress and post‑construction inspections to ensure installations meet company, client and regulatory standards.
• Identify non‑conformance issues and drive timely corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing FTTH outside‑plant construction projects.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple vendors, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards for telecom infrastructure.
• Experience preparing project plans, budgets and change order documentation.
