Community Registered Nurse – Mental Health (3 days/week)

About the role
The Community Registered Nurse (RN or RPN) joins Progressive Housing Society’s mental health team to provide safe, ethical, and competent care for individuals living with mental health concerns in the community, including an Assisted Living residential setting. Working three days per week, the RN collaborates with Fraser Health Authority’s Burnaby Mental Health and Substance Use program and follows a harm‑reduction philosophy.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver direct clinical care and services to individuals, groups, and the community, covering mental health, chronic disease management, geriatrics, and basic population health.
- Perform comprehensive assessments of clients’ physiological, psychological, socio‑cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Develop and update individualized Recovery Plans in multidisciplinary meetings.
- Provide guidance and supervision to teams delivering mental health supports.
- Oversee the medication administration program for the Assisted Living site.
- Maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and families, ensuring client choice and autonomy.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) licensed to practice in British Columbia.
- Experience working in community mental health or similar settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and community partners.
Required skills

- Knowledge of harm‑reduction principles
What we offer
- Competitive hourly wage of $45‑$55 CAD
- Part‑time schedule: 3 days per week (22‑24 hours), including one weekend day
