Class 1 Truck Driver

About the role

Steve's Livestock Transport is seeking a reliable Class 1 Truck Driver to transport livestock across Canada. This full‑time, permanent position is based in Brandon, MB and involves long‑haul trips with overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service when interacting with clients and dispatch.
• Load and unload livestock and related goods safely.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch and record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Complete and maintain accident/incident reports, bills of lading, driver logbooks and inspection reports.
• Handle and care for livestock throughout transport.

Required profile

• Physically demanding work; able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lb).
• Valid Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel overnight and work flexible shifts (early morning, evening, night, weekend).
• Pass criminal record check, drug test and driver licence validity check.
• Reliability, teamwork and a strong work ethic.

Required skills

• Air Brakes Endorsement.
• Class 1/1F/A licence for semi‑trailer trucks.
• Operation of on‑board trip recorder/computer.
• Knowledge of accident/incident reporting, bill of lading, driver logbook and inspection documentation.
