Child Caregiver – Private Home

About the role

We are seeking a reliable child caregiver to provide full‑time support in a private home in Markham. The role involves caring for infants and children, handling light housekeeping and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for the household in the parents’ absence.
• Perform light housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry tasks.
• Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens.
• Bathe, dress and feed infants and children.
• Discipline children according to parents’ requested methods.
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
• Organize activities such as games and outings for children.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
• Prepare infants and children for rest periods.
• Take children to and from school, appointments and activities.
• Tend to the emotional well‑being of the children.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience.
• Ability to handle up to 23 kg (50 lb) loads.
• Criminal record check required.
• Public transportation available; travel expenses paid by employer.
