Chief People Officer

About the role

Power to Change, a national movement of over 450 staff with an annual budget of nearly $40 million, is looking for a Chief People Officer to join its Executive Leadership Team. The role is not a traditional HR leadership position but a mission-critical mandate to build the people, culture and leadership capacity needed to mobilize thousands of believers for evangelism across Canada and the world. The leader shapes the culture and leadership DNA of the organization, builds and executes a people strategy, recruits and develops leaders, and strengthens a distributed, mission-driven workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to organizational direction, strategy and prioritization, and advise the President and senior leaders on people, culture and organizational health
• Cultivate a Jesus-centered, high-trust culture where staff are spiritually developed and aligned to mission
• Design and lead a comprehensive approach to attracting, developing and retaining leaders, building visible leadership pipelines across all mission contexts
• Ensure systems and practices give clarity, alignment and high performance across a distributed workforce, while safeguarding integrity through sound governance, risk management and faithful stewardship of people practices

Required profile

• A deeply committed follower of Jesus, aligned with the mission and calling of Power to Change
• Significant senior leadership experience in people, culture and organizational growth
• Track record of building healthy, high-performing teams and organizations
• Ability to influence at the highest levels, navigate complexity and hold ministry and organizational realities in tension
• Emotionally and culturally intelligent, both relational and results-oriented

The role may be centrally funded or involve Ministry Partner Development (MPD), building a team of financial and prayer partners; training and coaching are provided. Applications are made by submitting a cover letter and résumé to the President.
