Chief Officer

About the role

The Chief Officer will support the Captain in managing daily operations of a floatel vessel operating alongside Squamish, BC. This senior leadership position ensures safe, efficient vessel handling and delivers exceptional guest experiences on a rotational three‑year schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Captain with navigation, maneuvering, berthing and compliance with maritime regulations.
• Supervise crew training, performance evaluation, scheduling and conduct regular safety drills.
• Coordinate with hotel management to maintain high standards of guest service and resolve complaints.
• Oversee maintenance, repairs, inventory of spare parts and ensure all systems function properly.
• Implement safety and security protocols, conduct inspections and collaborate with authorities during emergencies.

Required profile

• Chief Mate COC – STCW Reg. II/2, with experience on vessels of 3000 GT or more.
• 3‑5 years sea service as Chief Officer or 2nd Mate on Ro‑Ro or passenger ships.
• Excellent command of English (written and verbal).
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
